Weekends have ways of cutting
holes in our pockets and this makes some individuals shiver at the sound of
hearing the word weekend. For them, the word "weekend" spells cash wipe out.
The trick here isn't about shying
away from expenses, but about not getting short of money by the beginning of the
new week. So here are a few great tips to make you less uneasy about what comes
after the “TGIF”.
#1:
Have a fixed weekend budget
If Corporations and Governments
work with budgets, why shouldn't you? Budgets are useful for placing a ceiling
on your expenses and having a fixed weekend budget is a great way to cut down
on unnecessary spending.
#2:
Delay spending until tomorrow
Unsatisfied needs of today are
very likely to be needs of tomorrow. This is a good way of differentiating
between your real needs and your wants.
Beware, the mind can be deceptive
at times. It can exaggerate the value of an item just because you want it. That
is why you should avoid being impulsive in your spending.
Shopping with a rush of blood to
the head isn't always the best. That which you think you can't do without, may
turn out to be very irrelevant to you later. That item looking so attractive at
the shopping aisle today may not be so attractive to you tomorrow. Avoid vain
spending.
#3:
Engage in activities that demand less spending
Weekends can still be enjoyed
without overspending. Keep an eye on how much you spend, and turn your
attention from expensive activities to something equally fun but less
cash-demanding. An indoor get-together with family or friends can be a great
option.
Now you can freely embrace your
weekends without the fear of waking up broke on Monday mornings.
